A man named Coulthan, aged twentythree, has surrendered himself to the police at Yass, stating that in January, 1878, while he was a chemist at Yerton, England, he poisoned his wife with prussic acid, weighted the body and threw it into the Mersey. Shortly afterwards he emigrated to Australia, and now asserts that he is wretched, and sees a vision of his wife nightly. Arrived—Arawata, from Auckland. [association special.] MELBOURNE, January 27.
