BOARD OF HEALTH.

At yesterday’s meeting of the Local Board o£ Health, a very interesting report by the Health Officer was read. The report dealt with the difficulties placed in the way of the officer of the Beard by the negleet of householders to report cases of infectious disease when they occurred, and it was suggested that the medical men of the city should be asked to co-operate with the Board in bringing about some improvement in this direction. Appended to the report was an article from “The Lancet,” giving a description of an English Act of Parliament (private) which renders it compulsory for householders to giro such information under a penalty. The report of the proceedings si jresterday’g meeting is unavoidably excluded.
