VOLUNTEERS.

Tho Christenurch Volunteers woro inspected by Colonel Scratchloy at the Drill Shed, Caehel street, last evening. There was a good muster of the companies represented—r.amely, the Engineers, Artillery, City Guards, and High School Cadets. The men were put through a series of military manoeuvres, after which thsy were inspected by Colonel Scratchley, who in a general way expressed satisfaction at the efficiency of tho Volunteers, and subsequently gave the officers tho benefit of his experience in matters of drill, &3.
