The French papers state that a competition is to be held amongst painters for the filling of a panel behind the seat of the President of the Chamber in the Palais Bourbon. Tho subject is to be associated with the history of France during the last twenty-five years. This panel, which is a large one, was, during the monarchy of Jullict, occupied by a picture repreßCting the taking of the constitutional oatb. During the Empire tho place was covered by a green ourtain.
