Mails close at tbe ( bief Post Office for ibe following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — SATURDAY, JANUARY 17, For Northern Ports, per Hawoi, at 7 p.m.. The guard’s van mast not be used for this mail. TUESDAY, JANUARY 20. For Northern Ports, per Waitaki. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Rotorua, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van 2.40 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco will close at Christchurch on January 31 at, and will be dne in London on March 16th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Suez, will be closed at Christchurch on February 12th, and will be due in London on April Ist. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
