CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday, Januaey 13. [Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., R.M.] Lunacy. —A man, charged with lunacy, was remanded to Addington for medical treatment.

Extoeting Money. —The charge of attempting to extort money brought against Daniel Barns and Julia Burns by Alice Oamfield, and which had been adjourned from the previous day, was now withdrawn. Failing to Peotidb. —William McMillan was summoned for failing to provide his wife, Mary Jane McMillan, and her four children, with adequate means of support. In the absence of the complainant the case was adjourned until the following day, the police being instructed to warn her to attend.
