PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHURCH.
The eighth district meeting of the Primitive Molhodiot Church in this colony commenced its session yesterday morning, iu the Cambridge Terrace Church, when the following officers were appointed :—Rev. W. J. Dear,, president; Mr B. W. U'Ron, vice-president ; Rev. C. E. Barley, secretary ; Rev. D. Dutton, FE.AS., conference representative. Tire church committee carefully investigated the state of the church property, and reported considerable success. It was found that two new churches had been opened during the year, one of them free of debt; and that others were in course of erection. The total value of church property is £21452 8s Id. There are twenty-seven oonnexional churches and nine parsonages, which have cost £13,749 10s 6.1. Besides this, land has been secured on which to erect churches, at a value of £BOO. The session adjourned at 1 pm. At 6 30 the Rev. D. Dutton preached an impressive sermon to a largo congregation, iu the Cambridge Terrace Church. Business was resumed at nine on Friday morning, and the meoling was occupied during the day in investigating the numerical and spiritual state of the churches and Sabbath schools.
