In consequence of the ejectment of a tenant, serious riots occurred at Gonnemara (?) in Ireland. The police fired upon and bayoneted the rioters, who were ultimately dispersed. None wore killed* but several were wounded.
BERLIN, January 5 England and Germany.
The North German "Gazette" publishes an article to-day, in which it is stated that Germany warmly supported Sir Henry Layard, the British Ambassador at Constantinople during his recent rupture with the Porte. The affair i* likely to bring about a closer understanding between England and Germany.
