POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to necessary alterations) as under SATURDAY, JANUARY 3. For Akaroa and Otago, per Wanaka, at 11.15 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.25 a.m.; guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. For tho United Kingdom, via San Francisco, Continents of Europe aud America, Mediterranean Ports, West Indies, China, Japan, Sandwich Islands, Now South Wales, Queensland, Northern ports of New Zealand, &c.. per Penguin, ns follows : Ordinary letters, at 5 p.m. Late fee letters, at 5.15 p.m. Books and newspapers, at 4 p.m. Registered letters, at 3 p.m. Money orders, at 3 p.m. Guard’s van, C 30 p in. special train. This mail will be dne in London on February 17th, 1880. TUESDAY, JANUARY G. For Northern ports, per Wellington. For Otago and Australian colonies, per Rotomahana. WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 7. For Chatham Islands, per Omaha, at 10 a.m.; guard’s van, 10.30 a.m. train. The next mail for tho United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will be closed at Christchurch on January 16th, and will he due in Loudon on March 4th, SYDNEY J. DICK. Chief Postmaster.
