THE Most Wonderful Sight at the S PORTS on the SHOW GROUND on BOXING DAT Will be tha GREAT CAMERA OBSCUBA In the Pointed Pavilion. Admission, Is ; children half price. OPINIONS OF THE PRESS. “ North Otago Times.” Nov. 22nd, 1879. A most noteworthy feature connected with the show was the Camera Obscora. The .'amera is fixed up in a pavilion which is placed on a grassy eminence. It is marvellously interesting. On a canvas surface placed immediately beneath the lens, which is in the dome of the pavilion, the whole town, its surroundings, and the people moving about in the streets can be seen with astonishing distinctness, forming a BEAUTIFUL LIVING PICTURE Every change in the sky, and the colors on the face of the landscape and in the streets is accurately reflected on the canvas beneath the eyes of the spectators. The pavilion will be kept open for the public to-day, and we know of nothing in Oamaru more likely to interest and please visiters. “ Oamarn Mail,” Nov. 22nd, 1879. The great Camera Ohscura. which was erected near the show ground, and was open daring the days of the exhibition and to-day, has been a source of great attraction, ar d it has been acknowledged by all who have seen it to be the most wonderful optical instrument of its kind they have ever seen. It was manufactured at Mr Procter’s establishments in Chrbtchnrch, and deserves great praise. 12-16 2331 NATIONAL INSURANCE COMPANY OF NEW ZEALAND. Capital £1,000,000, Paid up £50.000.
