Mails close at the Chief Post Offico for the following places (subject to necessary alteration:!) as under : MONDAY, DECEMBER 22. For Nelson, "Westport, Jackson's Bay, and Martin's Bay, per Maori, at 11.15 a.m.; lato fee letters, 11.25 a.m.; gnard's van, 12.10 p.m. train. TUESDAY, DECEMBER 23. For Northern Ports, per Taiaroa, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. "WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 24. For Australian Colonies, per express train to connect with s.s. Arawata at Port Chalmers, at 7.30 a.m. The next mail for tho United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will bo closed at Christchuroh on January 3rd, and will bo due in London on February 17th, 1880. The next mail for tho United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will be closed at Christchurch on January ICth. and will be due in London on March 4th. SYDNEY J. DICK,: Chief Postmaster.
