Fuad Pasha, who took the Sultan’s firman of investiture for the now Khedive to Cairo, is repotted to have received from the Khedive and members of his family various valuable presents. The German newspapers declare that over and above those presents he received an enormous sum in actual money— From Towfick Pasha himself, 250,000 f.; from the Khedive’s wife, 500,000 f.; from his mother, 250,000 f. ; and from the Egyptian Government, 100,000 f all, l,100,0()0f., or £44,000. A man out West has killed his physician, and the occurrence is so unusual a one that the papers can’t find type big enough to express their astonishment. William Thompson of Douglas County has had five wives and has just married the sixth. It is, however, due to the unfortusate man to state that ho has been totally blind for many years.—"St, Louis TimesJournal.” Joseph Jefferson is devoting the summer to teaching his boys how to fish and tell the truth. There are several cases on record where boys have been successfully taught Inw to fish.
