POST OFFICE NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subjeot to necessary alterations) as under : TUESDAY, DECEMBER 16. For Northern Ports, of New Zealand, per Wellington, at 7 p.m. Tho guard's van must not be used for this mail. WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 17. For Kaikoura, per Huia, at 4.4,5 p.m. The guard s van must not be used for this mail. THURSDAY, DECEMBER 18. Forthe United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton (for correspondence addressed per either of these routes only), Continent of Europe, India, Africa, Mediterranean Ports, Australian Colonies, and Otago, &c, per express train to the Bluff (to connect with s.s. Rotorua), as follows: — Ordinary letters, at 7 a.m. Books and newspapers, at 6 a.m. Registered letters, at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. ! Money orders, at i p.m. on Wednesday. [ Late fee letters may be posted in the Post Office van attached to the express train on the 18th instant. , . , The mail via Brindisi will be due in London on February 9th, and tho mail via Southampton on 1 February 16th, 1880. i For Northorn ports of New Zealand and Australian Colonies (via Sydney), per Ringarooma. For Otago, per Taiaroa. > The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on ' January 3rd, and will ho duo in London on February 17th, 1880. SYDNEY J.
