POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at tho Chief Post Office for tho following places (subject to necessary alterations) as under ; THURSDAY, DECEMBER 11. For Northern Ports, per Arawata, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Otago, per Wellington, at 12 30 p.m.; late foe letters, 12.45 p.m.; guard’s van, 1.25 p.m. train. For Kaikonra, per Jane Douglas, at 3 p.m.; late fee letters. 3.20 p.m.; guard’s van, 4p.m. train, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 12. For Northern Ports of New Zealand and Australian Colonies, per Wakatipu. The next mail for tho United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton (for letters specially addressed per either of those rentes only), will be closed at Jhristchnrch on December 17th.The mail via Brindisi will he dne in London on February 9th, and the mail via Southampton on February 16th, 1880. Tho next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on January 3rd, and will bo dne in London on February 7th, 1880. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
