Mails close at tho Chief Post Office for tho following places (subject to necessary alterations) as under: — WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10. For Australian Colonies, per express train to Port Chalmers (to connect with the s.B..Albion), at 7.;>0 a.m. For Callao, per Dontehland, at 2 p.m. ; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. THURSDAY, DECEMBER 11. For Northern Ports, per Arawata, at 1.50 p.m.; late feo letters, 2.10 p.m. j guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Otago, per Wellington. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 12. For Northern Ports of Now Zealand and Australian Colonies, per Watatipn. Tho next mail for tho United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton (for letters specially addressed per either of these rontes only), will ho closed at Jhristchnrch on December 17th. Tho mail via Brindisi will he dno in London on February oth, and the mail via Southampton on February 16th, 1880. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on January 3rd, and will hodne in London on February 17th, 18S0. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
