RANGIORA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The ordiniTy meeting of this Council was he'd on Friday evening. Present, the Mayor (Mr Blackott)jOrs.Boys,Burt, Gcod.Bobinson, Ivory, Stephens, Luxton, and Johnston. Letters were read from Mr J. Fulton, offering land for extension of Queen Btrent for £6O. It was resolved to contribute 1 30, and when the land for the street had been purchased, the Council take it over. From Mr J. O. Boys in reforenco to Mi' White's slaughter license. Consideration thereof deferred. From Mr F. Sendall, asking Icuvh to placo a pipe drain in footpath near his butcher's shop. liefused. From Colonial Treasurer, advising payment of £3 5s from fees and fines. Cr. Ivory preaonted a petition signed by forty-six burgesses, asking for the opening up of George Btreot into Perceval street. It was decided that Mr Perceval bo written to on the matter. It was decided also to communicate with him respecting opening a chain road in continuation of King street. A tender of Mr J. Keest for 160 dog collars, £6 53 6d, was accepted. The credit balance in bank was £2BB 9s Id. Accounts £lO5 17s 10d were passed. It waa resolved on motion of Cr. Boyd, seconded by Cr. Johnston —" That hawkers and pedlars tra ing in thia borough bo subject to a license, for which a fee be charged, and that tho clerk obtain information as to the fees charged in other boroughs." Cr. Good drew attontion to the defective drainage of part of High street. The Council then adjourned.
