Mr Gladstone, in his electoral address at Glasgow University, was brilliantly and enthusiastically received. In addressing a political mooting in Glasgow, ho denied opposing tho Government for tho sake of office, but said tho country demanded justice in dealing with foreign nations, economy financially, and reforms internally. Mew Zealand Consols. The New Zealand Consolidated four and a half debentures fell to 94 on Decomber sth.
