Mails closo at tho Chief Post Office for tho following places (snbjoct to uococsary alterations) as umlor ; SATURDAY, DECEMBER G. For tho LTnitoa Kiuifdou., Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan (via San Francisco), Saudwich Islands, New South Wales, and Queensland, and Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Pengain, as follows : Ordinary letters, at 5 p.m. Late fee letters, at 5.45 p.m. Books and newspapers, at 4 p.m. Registered letters, at 4 p.m. Money orders, at 3.30 _j.m. Guard's van, G. 30 p.m. (special train). This mail is dao in London on the 20th January, 1880. MONDAY, DECEMBERS. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Hawea (to connect at Port Chalmers with the s.s. Albion), at 12.30 p.m., late letters, 12.45 p.m.; gnard's van, 1.25 p.m. train. For Kaikoura, per Huia, at J. 15 p.m. The gnard's van must not not bo used for this mail. The next mail for United Kingdom, via Briudisi and Southampton (for letters specially addressed per either of these routes only), will be closed at Jhristchurch on December 17th. The mail via Brindisi will be duo in London on February 9th, and the mail via Southampton on Fobruary 10th, 1880. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
