The Intorprovincial match, ten men a side, against Canterbury and North Otago, takes place on the 19tb. AUCKLAND, December 3. The Te Puke Block. At the Waste Lands Board the chairman said he had written to tho Minister of Lands referring to tho stoppage by the Government of tho survey of To Puke block, and the only reply received was simply an acknowledgment of the letter. Ho heard that the land was to bo sold to Mr Vesey Stewart. Mr May considered, if this were true, it was a rascally shame, for numerous applications had been made. After other members had expressed their opinion, it was agreed that— “In reference to tho reply of the hon. Minister of Lands, dated November 13lh, relative to the stoppage of tho survey of Te Puke block, the Board regrets that pressure of Parliamentary business appears to 'have prevented the Minister of Lands giving due consideration to its resolution of October last, and respectfully urges its further consideration, inasmuch as a great desire exists for a portion ol tho To Puke block to bo brought into the market, more especially as tho Bay of Plenty, in which To Puke is situated, has been kept back for many years from the impossibility of obtaining lands.” A letter was received from Mr Sheehan, merely acknowledging the receipt of the resolution of the Board, requesting him to state the occasion on which any favoritism had been shown by it. The chairman said ho had received a letter from Mr Heskoth enclosing a copy of a communication which had been dispatched to the Native Minister claiming on behalf of Mr Thomas Bussell a largo block in Te Arohoa promised to him, it was asserted by Mr James Maokay, on behalf of Government. The area was between 7000 and 8000 acres of the best land in the block.
