CREATING A DISTURBANCE.

Pierre Morin, described as a "Eupernnmary on a dramatic troupe," was charged in the Jtfferfion Market Police Court with creating a disturbance in a South Fifth Avenue drinking place, and playing the very mischief with its contents. " What have you to say in your defence, Pierre?" his Honor asked, after the complaint was submitted. The prisoner shrugged his shoulders in true Gallic fashion, but only shook his head. The mysteries of the language were clearly a sealed book to him. They sent for an interpreter, a brother Frenchman, then. " Parlez vous en Anglais, Monsieur 1 " The prisoner pouted his lips. " Settlement un mot on deux," he said. " He know only two, tree vord," the interpreter volunteered for the Court's benefit. " Only two or three words ? " his Honor said. " Ask him what they are," and the inquiry was made. At first the prisoner knit his brows and reflected. But soon he had them at his tongue's snd. " Weesky atret 1 No spick Engleese ! Go to hale ! " " Truly a choice vocabulary," the Court commented. But the captive was not done. He seized the interpreter rapturously as though a brilliant idea had just struck him, and whispered in his ear. " He know von other vord, the latter explained. " Does he ? What is it 1 " The question was put. " Damfool," said the prisoner, perfectly delighted with the extent of his linguistic attainments.
