A Queer Toast.—At a dinner at the Mansion House, London, three foreign consuls were present, whom the Lord Mayor wished to honor by drinking their healths. He accordingly directed the toastmaster to announce the healths of the “the three present consuls.” He. however, mistaking the words, gave out the following:—“The Lord Mayor drinks the health of the three per cent, consols."
