In the caso of Lingard v Gillon to recover £lO paid in 1877, under protest, as dramatic author's fees, the Magistrate held that the defendant failed to establish any claim to collect these fees, and that in threatening to stop Mr Lingard from going to America, undue advantago was taken, as it had not been shown that there existed any agreement between Messrs Coppin and Lingard. NELSON, November 19. An inquest was commenced to-day on the body ot an infant found yesterday, when it came out that the mother was a servant girl, named Alice Sutton. The medical evidence was that the child was born alive, but had probably been suffocited by blood and mucus found in its throat.
