SALE OF STUD SHEEP.
The sale by Messrs R. Wilkin and Co., in conjunction with J. T. Ford and Co., of the pure-bred stud sheep to which reference has already been made, took place yesterday at their wool stores, and attracted a very largo concourse of sheep breeders and others. Mr F. O. Tabart acted as auctioneer, and in his opening remarks spoke of the rare opportunity now afforded to the Now Zealand flookmasters of obtaining some of the proudest blood ever imported into the colony. The sheep were of the highest possible quality, in tip top condition, and were all round perfect pictures. Mr Tabart proceeded with that eloquence on stock subjects for which he is so renowned, to descant at length on the merits of the sheep, and afterwards put them up for sale in the following order : The prices realised are as follows : Eight 4 and 6 tooth pure merino stud ram s, bred by W.
