Malveen.—A severe thunderstorm, acccompanicd by heavy rain, passed over this district on Tuesday. The lightning was very vivid. More than an inch of rain must have fallen during the storm. The farmers in the district never remember such a favorable season, as with the exception of a heavy norwester on Monday night, there has been a total absence of high winds. A Hardly-Ever Temperance Society has been founded in New Orleans. According to the 11 Elmira Gazette,” the members hardly ever ” daink, unless some one asks them.
