Wakatipn, from Port Chalmers, arrived this morning, to sail for Wellington and Sydney tobarque Glealora sailed for Napier, iu ballast, this morning. , The Government steam launch, after four years service in the Port, has been found to ho in a decidedly nnscaworthy conditifcion. The vessel was slipped a short time since to have some alteration made in her boiler and her hull cemented and painted. While scraping the latter it was found that the tapping of a hammer against some or her plates was more than they would bear, evidence or ■which was shown by the circumstance of the hammer going through them. Her engines were also found to he in need of repairs. It is not likely the steamer will bo running again for a considerable time.
