PAPANUI SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The committee met on Nov. 4th. Prossent — All the members, except Mr Hudson. Correspondence between the Board and the chairman was read. The Board wrote asking for information with regard to quarterly returns ; also stating that the returns were incorrect. The matter had been satisfactorily explained, and Mr Morgan had received instructions how to make out the returns in future. A circular. No. 10, from the Board was received, accompanying a packet of good attendance certificates. A tabular summary of attendance returns for the quarter ending September 30th, was laid on the table. A letter from Mr Morgan, drawing the attention of the committee to several matters requiring their consideration, and asking for several requisites, was ordered to be attended to. The caretaker wrote to give notice of his intention to terminate his agreement with the committee at the end of the month. His resignation was accepted, and the chairman ordered to call for tenders for keeping the school clean, &c., for six months from the Ist of December. The committee decided to give the usual annual treat before Christmas, the date to be fixed at a future meeting; in the meantime, the chairman waa directed to issue subscription lists for collecting the necessary funds. The chairman mentioned that ho had visited the school in the previous week, and drew the attention of the works committee to the several things mentioned in Mr Morgan's letter, and hoped they would attend to them at once. After some other business, the committee adjourned, to meet again in a fortnight.
