AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the committee of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held at the offices, Hereford street, yesterday afternoon, |when there were presen I —Tho Prrsident,. Mr J. T. Ford, and Messrs Duncan, Norman, Henderson, W. Boag, J. R. Hill, J. Ollivier, R. Sutherland, R. Wilkin, J. Mcßeath, J. Mann, J, Gilmore, O. W. Money, T. Bruce, J. Doans, H. P. Murray-Aynsley. The principal object of tho meeting was to make final arrangements for the annual show to bo held next week. A letter was received from Mr Parker in reference to his exhibits, and ordered to be acknowledged. The question of arranging with tho band to play on tho show days was loft to the secretary. As to securing the patronage of tho Governor, which claimed consideration as an item on the order paper, it was left with tho president to deal with. Mr Ollivier consented to take steps to ask tho Government to close the Government offices on Wednesday, so that it would really be a. general as well as a Bank holiday, and it was understood that he would consult with the Mayor on the subject. It was resolved to have a dinner this year, and the committee reported that an arrangement had been made with Mr Wagner to supply the dinner—tickets, to be one guinea each, to be had from tho secretary till next Tuesday. With regard to the Light Horse exhibits, a request had been received from the judges that the horses should be on tho ground as early as possible, and it was resolved that they should be on the ground at about nine o’clock in order to facilitate the work of the judges. This will be notified in the usual way. An entrance to the Showground from the old Pound road, opposite Durham street, has been provided for the convenience of those exhibiting horses. Provision was made for. watering the streets, and other matters of detail; and accounts to the amount of £387 7s 6d were passed for paymont. Tho committee then adjourned.
