The barque Elizabeth, Captain Lovett, cleared for Newcastle this moiuing-. The sohooner Wave of life arrived this morning from Pelorus Sound. The brigantine Ethel, Mr J. B. Way, agent, Is advertised as on tbe berth for Auckland direct. The Atalanta left Boston on the 12th of May, with a large and miscellaneous cargo consigned to Dunedin and Wellington. She met with very severe weather, during which several of her spars were carried away, the bowsprit was sprung, and the veßsel commenced'to leak so badly that she had to put into Cape Town on the 11th of August for repairs. A telegram, dated Cape Town, 29th Augnst (published in a New York paper), states that the Atalanta was (hen in dock, discharging by order of the surveyors. The insurances upon the cargo are held by New Zealand offices. The New lealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company's ■circular, under date September 11th, reports the movements of the New Zealand ShipSing Company's vessels as follows: —Waitara, for anterbury, September sth, with 161 passengers j Wanganui, for Otago, on September 6th, with 253 ; the Arethmsa and Loch Fleet, on August 16th, the former with 376 passengers, and the latter with 26; the Opawa, for Wellington and Nelson, August 16th, with 342; the Fernglen, for Auckland, on August 16th, with 151 passengers. To despatch— The Piako, for Canterbury, October 21st, and the Hereford, for Canterbury, in September; October 15th, Comadre, for Otago. and in September, the Otaki; September 22nd, Ingle wood, for Auckland.
