Mails close at the Chief Poet Office top tV f allowing places (subject to necessary alterations) os under ; THURSDAY, OCT. 10. For Kaikonra and Wellington, per Jane Douglas, at 3 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.20 p.m.; guard’s van, 4 p.m. train. For Otago, per Wellington, at 11.15 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.25 a.m.; guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern ports of New Zealand, per Oreti, at3p.m.; late fee letters, 3.20 p.m.; guard’s van, 4 p.m. train. Note —On and after Tuesday, 21st inst., mails will close at Christchurch for Upper Waian Ferry and Hanmer Plains, each Tuesday at 6 a.m., and arrive at Christchurch from these offices each Thursday, at 8 p.m. STBHET J, DICE, Chief Postmaster
