Taiaroa arrived from Dunedin this morning, and is to sail to-day for Wellington and Northern ports. . r The Sarah and Mary arrived this morning from Havelock, and the barque Southern Cross from Hobart Town. , _ . . The barque John Knox cleared for Sydney to-day. The signal for a brig made on Friday night was subsequently changed to that of a barque, and proved to he the iron collier Sunbeam, Captain Thompson, from Newcastle. The vessel came up the harbor on Saturday morning, and was berthed alongside the hulk. Her report is that she left Newcastle on the 27th nit., and had strong S.W. and southerly winds to making Cape Farewell on the 4th current, thence until the 6fch S.E. winds, and through the Straits light westerlies, passing the Brothers at 8 am. on Wednesday last, and Capo Campbell at noon. Along the coast had fresh northerly winds until Thursday. Light airs with very thick fog prevailed during Friday morning, then a fresh N. W. breeze to the heads, where the Sunbeam anchored at 10 p.m. Her cargo consists of 565 tons coal, consigned to Mr Eiohard Wood. Claims against the Sontag should be rendered to--day to the vessel’s agents, Messrs Dalgety and Co. The vessels in the stream last evening to sail first change of wind were—Bulwark, ship, for San Francisco ; Star of India, Island City, and Elliotts, for Newcastle; Annie Hill, for Greymonth. The Clematis was loading for this port at Hokitika on last Wednesday, when the Isabella Anderson left. ISHIPPING TELEGEAM9. Bluff, October 13. The Arawata attired at the Blnff at 7 p.m. yestorxlay. She left Melbourne ot 3.50 p.m on the Bth; cleared the Heads at 6.30 p.m.; passed the Solanders on the 12th, nt 1.15 p.m. She experienced northerly winds and fine weather. She' passed the ship Sir Jamsetgeo, of Loudon, and the barque Bobyoito, off Stewart’s Island. Passengers— Saloon, for Dnnedin —Misses Oliver, Davies, Mrs Bryan and two children, Messrs Cardin (2), Hallenstion, Stewart. Scott, Ehodes, Higginson, Hnssey; 19 steerage, and 120 tons cargo. For Lyttelton —Mrs Neate and servant, Messrs Evans, Harris, Nolan, Lloyd; 13 steerage, and 30 tons cargo. For Wellington—Mr and Mrs Charlwood, Mr and Mrs Sandilands, Miss Osborne, Mrs Williamson and child ; 6 steerage, and 70 tons cargo. For Nelson—Mr McKean; 3 steerage, and 25 tons cargo.
