POST OFFICE NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Poet Office for the following places (subject to necessary alterations) as under i THURSDAY, OCTOBER 2. For Wanganui, per Wnllabi, at 4.45 p.m.; guard’s van mast not be used. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4. For Northern Ports of Now Zealand, per Pengnin, at 7 p.m.; guard's van mast not ho used for Ponguin’s mails. The next mail for the United Kingdom via Son Franoisoo will be closed at Christchurch on October 10th, and will bo due in London on 25th November. Note. —On and after Ist October the mail service to Sprcydon, Halswell, Tai Tapu, and Green Park will be a daily one, closing at Christchurch at 2.30 p.m. Mails from these offices will arrive at Christchurch at 11 am. A Post-offico will bo opened at Sonth Malvern, at the store of Mr Grindrod. Mails will close at Christchurch daily at C a.m., and arrive at Christchurch from South Malvorn at 6.40 p.m. daily. A Post-office will be opened at the school-house, Kowai Bush. Mails will close at Christchurch each Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, at 6 a.m.. and arrive at Christchurch on the same days at 6.40 p.m. A Post-office will ho opened at the railway extension works, Weka i’ass, at the store of Messrs White and Co. Mails will close at Christchurch daily at 6 a.m., and arrive in Christchurch daily at 8 p.m. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmoeter.
