Mails close at the Chl<( Post Office for thr f allowing plaoen (subject to necessary alterations) as under FRIDAY, SEPT. 19. For Otago, per Huia, at 11.15 a.m.; late letters, 11.25 a.m.; guard's van, 12.10 p.m. train. SATURDAY, SEPT. 20. JSFor Northern ports of New Zealand, per Hawea, at 7 p.m. Guard’s van must not ho used for Hawea's mails. The next mails for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton (for correspondence addressed per either of these routes only), will be closed at Christchurch on September 24. The mail via Brindisi will be dno in London on November 17th, and the mail via Southampton on November 24th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster
