POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following plaoon (subject to necessary alterations) as under THURSDAY. SEPT. 18. For Northern ports of New Zealand, per Arawata, at 1.50 p.m. ; late feo letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Otago, per Wakatipu, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. FRIDAY, SEPT. 19. For Otago, per Hnia, at 11.15 a.m.; late letters, 11.25 a.m.: guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. SATURDAY, SEPT. 20. r For Northern ports of New Zealand, per Hawea, at 7 p.m. Guard’s van must not be used for Hawea’s mails. The next mails for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton (for correspondence addressed per either of these routes only), will be closed at Christchurch on September 24. The mail via Brindisi will be due in London on November 17th, and the mail via Southampton on November 24th. BTDHET J. DICK, Chief Postman bar.
