Malle close at the Chief Post Office for the fallowing places (subject to necessary alterations) &s under i MONDAY. SEPT. 15. Per Kaikoura and Wellington, per Jane Donglas, at 3 p.m. ; late foe letters, 3.15 p.m.; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. For Wellington and Westport, per Wanganui, at 1.50 p.m,; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Otago, per Ladybird, at 11,15 a.m. ; late fee letters, at 11.25 a.m. : Guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. TUESDAY, SEPT. 16. - For Australian colonies, per express train, to connect with Tararua at Port Chalmers at 7.30 a.m.

Tho next mails for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton (for correspondence addressed per either of these rentes only), will be closed at Christchurch on September 24. The mail via Brindisi will bo due in Loudon on November 17th, and the mail via Southampton on November 24th.

Note.— A post office called Mayfield has been established on the south side of tho Hinds, near tho forks of the river. Mails for Mayfield close at Christchurch each Saturday at 7.30 a.m., arriving at 1.45 p.m. saixo day. Mails for Christchurch close at Mayfield each Saturday at 7 a.m., arriving at 2 p.m. same day.
