BOROUGH ELECTIONS.

MEETING AT LYTTELTON. The Colonists' Hall, Lyttelton, was well filled last night, to hear the views of the candidates for the three vacancies in the Borough Council. The Mayor presided, and five of the six candidates nominated addressed the meeting, namely, Messrs Grubb, Webb, Higgs, Smith, and Holmes. The opportunity was taken advantage of to badger the candidates about local matters, and to have as much fun out of them as possible. A vote of thanks to the chairman brought the proceedings to a close. But little interest is beiag taken in the election to-day.
