Malls close at the Chief Pont Office for the following places (subject to necessary alterations) aa under s MONDAY, SEPT. 1. For Kaikoura and Northern Porta, per lluii, at 1.45 p.m. The guard’s ran must not he used for this mail. „ TUESDAY, SEPT. 2. For Otago and Australian colonies, per Albion. WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 3. For Australian colonies, per express train to Port Chalmers (to connect with s.s. Albion), at 7.30 a.m. The next mall for the United Kingdom via San Francisco will bo closed at Christchurch on September 12th, and will be due in London on October 28th. The next mails for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton (for correspondence addressed per either of these routes only), will be close at Christchurch on September 24. The mail via Brindisi will bo due in London on November 17th, and the mail via Southampton on November 24th. Notice. —Only town rate of postage (Id per halfounce) is charged on letters posted in Christchurch, Sydenham, or suburban receiving boxes, for delivery by local letter carriers throughout these boroughs or suburbs. dIhNEI J.
