For the United Kingdom (via Brindisi and Southampton), Australia, &0., per express train to connect with. s.s. Arawata at the Jiluti, at 7.30 a.m. . Letters bearing a late fee of 2d may be posted in the travelling post office attached to the express train on 27th inst. _ For Northern ports, per Southern Cross, at 11.15 a.m. ; late fee letters, 11.25 a.m.; guard s van, 12.10 p.m. train. „ FRIDAY, AUGUST 29. For Northern ports of New Zealand, Now South Wales, and Queensland, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco will be closed at Chnstchurch on September 12th, and will b© duo in London on October 28th, Notice. —Only town rate of postage (Id per halfounce) is charged on letters posted in Christchurch, Sydenham, or suburban receiving boxes, for delivery by local letter carriers throughout these boroughs or suburbs. ♦ SYDNEY J.
