Guard's van, 3.40 p.m. train. The mail via Brindisi will bo due in London on October 30th, and the mail via Southampton on October 27th. . The next mail for the United Kingdom via Ban Pranoisco will bo closed at Christchurch on September 12th, and will be due in London on October 28th, Notice. —Only town rate of postage (Id per halfounce) is charged on letters posted in Christchurch, Sydonham, or suburban receiving boxes, for delivery by local letter carriers throughout these boroughs or suburbs. A pillar receiving box has been erected at tho inaction of Victoria and Durham streets. The hours of clearance are 5.30 a.m., 11.30 a.m,, and 4.30 p.m, daily.
