POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails olose at the Chief Post Offloa for the following plaooß (subject to necessary alterations) as under i WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20. For Otapo, per Taiaroa, at 11 15 a.m. ; lato fee letters, 11.25 a.m.; gunrd's van, 12.10 p.m train. For Northern ports, per Waitaki, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Kaikonra and Northern ports, per Hnia, at 4.15 p.m. The late letter box, guard's van, must not be used for this mail. The next mails for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton (for correspondence addressed per either of these routes only) will be closed at Christehurch on Tuesday, August 26th. The mail via Brindisi will bo due in London on October 20th, and the mail via Southampton on October 27th. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco will be closed at Christehurch on September 12th, Sand will be due in London on October 28th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
