Mails close at the Chief Post Offlcwi for tho following places (subject to necessary alterations) as under : MONDAY, AUGUST 18. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Ladybird (to connect with s.s. Eotorna, at Port Chalmers), at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. * TUESDAY, AUGUST 19. For Australia, per Express train to Port Chalmers (to connect with s.s. Eotorna), at 7.30 a.m. Tho next mails for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton (for correspondence addressed per either of these routes only) will ho closed at Christchurch on August 25th. The mail via Brindisi will bo duo in London on October 20tb, and tha mail via Southampton on October 27th, SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
