Hails close at the Chic! Post Office tor the following places (subject to necessary alterations) aa under THURSDAY, AUGUST It. For Northern Ports of New. Zealand, New South Wales, and Queensland, per Tararua, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m. ;■ guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. SATURDAY, AUGUST IG. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Rotorua. Mails per Hawea will close as follows -. — For the United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, China, Japan, &c., via San Francisco, Sandwich Islands, Northern ports of New Zealand. Ordinary letters, at 1 p.m. Late fee letters, at 1.45 p.m. Books and newspapers, at 12 noon. Registered letters, at 12 noon. Money orders at 11 a.m. Guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. This mail will be due iu London on September 30th. The next mails for tho United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton (for correspondence addressed per either of these routes only) will bo closed at Christchurch on August 25th. The mail via Brindisi will be due in London on October 20th, and the mail via Southampton on October 27th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
