At Abbey Bock took in a quantity of lithographic stone, and steamed on to Hokitika roadstead ; reached at midnight July 31st. The bar being unworkable waited for orders, and at 2 p.m. on Aug. Ist Captain Berniche landed in a lifeboat. On August 2nd tbe Waipora came off and tendered tho steamer, and the following day at 2 a.m. the Maori proceeded on to Westport, arriving at 11.30 a.m. Discharged cargo there, and left for Nelson at 11 a.m. August sth, arriving at 8 a.m. August 6th. Xeft at 9.30 and came on to lyttelton.
