F. Jenkins, agent. Cleared—August 5. Albion, s.s., 591 tons, Gerrard, for Melbourne via Hobart Town and South. R. Pnflett, agent. Sarah and Mary, ketch, 40 tons, Forman, for Wellington. Cuff and Graham, agent. The s.s. Albion, from Wellington, arrived at 6.30 a.m. to-day, and will leave this afternoon for Melbourne via Hobart Town and Southern Ports. The s.s. Southern Cross, from Auckland via way ports and Wellington, arrived at 8 a.m, to-day. She is advertised to sail North to-morrow. The Alert from Napier, and Onward from Greymonth, arrived this morning. The Sarah and Mary, ketch, cleared for Wellington this morning. . , - . Tho barque Bose M„ Captain Brown (last hero m the Trelearen Family) arrived yesterday from Newcastle. She left there July 14th, and hnd strong southerly and easterly winds to Capo Farewell on July 86th. There mot with heavy S.E. gales, eight days being occupied getting clear of tte straits. Passed Cape Campbell on Sunday last, and carried northerly winds thence to arrival. _ The ■vessel has a full cargo of piles audtimher consigned to Messrs Laugdowu and Co., the agents of the Captain Brown of the barque Rose M. reports that when off Capo Farewell on July 3Sth, the Cape hearing about 5.8. W., ho passed a spar, apparently a schooner’s mainmast with the crosstrees hanging to it. He was some distance from it, bnt thought from its appearance it must have been in tbo water a considerable time, as it was partly covered with grass and sea-weed. .. . The Lnrlino was berthed yesterday on the west aide of No. 2 intermediate jetty, and tho Priac* Alfred on the east side. The'sohooner Laurel. Captain Swede, from Fioton, arrived yesterday. She left on Saturday, and had northerly winds down. Her cargo is timber, consigned to order.
