The month haß been winterly in its character, the first four days being dull and showery with enow on the 4th ; the following six days were fine with frosty mornings ; on the 11th N.E., fine morning, wind changed to S.AV. with heavy fall of snow at evening ; tho following day fine and frosty, continuing fine until the 18r,h; dull and light showers on the 19th, towards evening snow, continuing through the next day, now averaging four inches in depth and remaining upon the ground in places until the 27th ; fiue weather with frosty mornings from the 21st to 26th; 27th to 29 th dull with rain; 30th and 31st fine. The mornings generally have been frosty, prevailing winds N.E., E., and S.W. There have been sevonteen fine days during the month. A sharp shock of earthquake on the 22nd. J. B. Staksbli/, Observer.
