THEATRE ROYAL.

There was a very small attendance at the Theatre Koyol last night. A drumat'e version of "Wilkie Collin*' «' No Name" was played under the title of " Great Temptation in -which Mr Wyhert Reeve original character of Captain and Miss Ada Lester that of Tgdalen Vanstone. As the moral agrifturist, Mr Reeve was inimitable. was a study, and . «11 features of the character were reproduced with striking fidelity. The selfpossession, easy assurance and pompous Bolfaisertiveness of the wily adventurer were each depicted with a vraisemblance that proved the actor to be a consummate master of his art. Miss Lester gave a vivid portrait of the highspirited girl driven to desperation by an unmerited wrong, and by her excellent acting firmly established herself in tte good opinion of the audience. Miss Lizzie Lawrence succeeded in completely realising the eccentric -character of Mrs Wragge. The portrait was grotesque without being overdrawn, and her make up was as good as her conception. Mr J. Gh Joyce played the lawyer, Mr Pendril, in Ms usual excellent style, and Mr D'Orsay Ogden made the most of Bartram, though the role of jevne premiere is scarcely in this gentleman's line. The remainder of the characters received fair justico at the hands of the company. " Great Temptation" will be repeated this evening.
