COUNCILLOR CASS IN REPLY.
To the Editor of the Glohe.
Sib, —Will you oblige by allowing mo to correct a little mil take that baa arisen. Your article that I condemned in Council was not the dwarfish one on the water question, but that of, I think, Saturday evening last, on the City Councillors as selectors o£ the best design for a new Town Hell, Ac, and in which you thought proper, in a most uncalled for manner, to insult the whole Council by the broadest insinuations of ignorance and incompetence, and for every word of which, by whomsoever written, you, as editor, are responsible. So long as you claim and exercise the orivilego of insulting a body of respectable lusinoas men in the careful and laborious discharge of their public duties, so long must you expect to be snubbed. But if you will only confine your remarks to just criticism and the offer of intelligent advice, you will find no one more willing to enteric in your suggestions than Yours, &c., B. Cass.
