LATEST POLITICAL.
fFEOIt OTJS OWN COEBESPONDKNT.] WELLINGTON, July 23. In tlia House last night the Minister for lands had the temerity and folly to assert twice that the Opposition had refused to pass an Imprest Supply Bill. This gave Sir W. Fox an opportunity to jmt the matter in its true light when speaking to the adjournment of the House. Mr Thompson’ speech was feeble in the extreme, and Mr Gisborne’s was even more empty and pompous than usual. It now appears that the “ prominent members of the House” who are to accompany the Premier on his appeal to the Wellington citizens this evening are his body guard, Messrs Eees and Moss.
