['Ey Telegraph.] NEW PLYMOUTH, July 22. A correspondent from Waitara says that the Natives have recommenced ploughing at daylight this morning at Tikorangi. Five ploughs are at work. The Natives are ploughing with five ploughs at Tikorangi to-day. A warrant has been issued at the Police Court to-day against Pnkau, of Kaipakopako, for rescuing horses driven to the pound for trespass.! PATEA, July 22. The employment of men in this district for constructing the railway, and for road work, is apparently as remote as ever. There is little or no chance at present for the men to get work. They are waiting till tho Government are ready, hut there are no signs of the works promised by the Government being car.ied out. LieutenantColonel Roberts is even now refusing to take any more of the men who wish to join the Constabulary. It is widely rumored that the Natives are going to plough again in a few days. It is feared that if some public works are not soon commenced half of the best men in the district w ill have to leave.
