Seager—Old Erench gun (beginning of this century), brought by the Erench when landing to Akaroa (1839). Indian Museum, Calcutta —Handbook of mollusca. Mr George Batt, Christchurch —Specimen of coalgrit, with dendrites, from the Rocky Mountains, territory of Utah, U.S. America. Mr T. E. Young, Judge of the Native Court —Four specimens of Sphocna robertsii. Mr Joseph BottjChristohuroh— Old Chinese box. Mr S. Deighton, R.M., Waitangi, Chatham Islands—Large model of Moriori canoe, with oars, specimens of Moriori carvings. Mr E. 8. Ellisdon, Christchurch—Four specimens of marble from the Canterbury Marble Quarry Company, Limited, polished. Mr A. M. Johnston, Trout Dale Farm, Opawa—Two specimens of Saltno fontinalis (American brook trout), from ov» imported from America by himself. Mr Charles A. Crusoe, of the Original Georgia Minstrels—One specimen of native copper from Lake Superior, Michigan, U.S., America ; one specimen of silver ore, California mine, Virginia City, Nevada; one specimen of silver ore from the Big Bonanza mine, Virginia City, Nevada j one specimen of cinnabar (quicksilver ore) from San Louis Obispo, Southern California. Mr A. N. Macfarlane, Christchurch —Specimens of Septaria concretions from the Hurunui. Mr W. A. Watson, Hororata—One specimen of Botaurus pocciloptilus (bitten). • Master Leo Smith, Christchurch One guinea token, George 111. Sir Penrose Julyan—Two models illustrating ship-building. Mr S. W. Silver, Silvertown, London, E.— Cabinet containing specimens from the Indiarubber, Guttapercha, and Telegraph Company (Limited), viz. : Guttapercha, raw and manufactured; indiarubber goods vulcanised, raw, washed, and masticated; indiarubber insulated wires ; guttapercha insulated wires; indiarubber ebonite goods, and submarine cables. Mr H. L. Stedman, Christchurch One specimen of Ichneumon fly. Mr Major Cunningham—One specimen of Ortygometra affinis, New Zsaland water crake. Mr C. H. Robson, Moeraki lighthouse— Collection of fishes, star fishes, Crustacea, &0., in spirits of wice, collected by him at Cape Campbell. Mrs Earle, The Grange, Opawa —One Bilver medal, Washington, 1795. Miss Wilkinson, The Grange, Opawa— Collection of rubbings from monumental brasses, England. Dr. Ross, Ashburton —Specimen of moth, caught on the west coast of South America. Mr R. Fereday, Christchurch —Collection of English Lepidoptera, consisting of several thousand specimens. Mr John Carpenter, Christchurch—Specimen of flying fish, whioh flew on board the ship Mallowdale on the passage from London to Canterbury. Mr Charles Oram, Kaiapoi —Skeleton of whale (Epiedon chathamiensiß), stranded on the ocean beach to the north of Kaiapoi. Mr C. F. Reed, Westerfield, Ashburton— One specimen of Cook's Petrel (Procellaria Cookii). Miss Alice Lunn, Rhcarton—Specimen of Mantis, caught at Amberley. Mr W. Oookson, jun., Fendaltown—One specimen of (Spolloglaux Novss Zealandise) More-pork. Mr W. Hawkins, Springfield road—One specimen of Ichthyocampus filum (Pipe fish), Chatham Islands. Mr 0. Marden, Christchurch—Specimen of Mantis. Mr E. Strange, Christohurch—Two specimens of pea-fowl, young (Pavo cristatus). Mr T. Bragshaw, Christchurch—Old bronze coin, Roman, found by himself in the wall of an old church at Kilburn, Yorkshire, England. Mr George Mclntyre, Christchurch —An old number of the New Zealand Government "Gazette," dated Kororareki, May 13th, 1841. Mr Calvert, Woolston —One specimen of Ga'ilus bankiva (bantam cock). Miss Matilda Vareoe, Harewood Farm— One specimen of Macaque monkey, India. Miss Powell, Christchurch—One bronze coin. Mr Wright, Pbesb Office—Two specimens of fossil fruit from the Grey coal. Christchurch Acclimatis tion Society—One specimen of blue-faced hjney-eater (Entomyza cyanotis).
