' fourteen, saw deceased hanging with bio hands to the shaft, holding something round. In an instant deceased was caught and whirled round, striking the joists with his feet. J. McGormick said deceased had wanted bim to come and see the fun. He placed a sack with sawdust on the shaft, round which it twisted, and was then thrown off, striking any person who stood near. Ho had only dissevered the trick that day, and had bean experimenting several times. Dr. Roberts described the injuries inflicted on deceased, whick were of a horrible character. Mr A. J. Gibbs stated that the room in which deceased was injured was partially underground. Neither deceased nor any other of the boys had any business there at the time the ace'dent occurred. The coroner said the accident was clearly the result of deceased's own carelessness or play, and that the ofßciP 1 s were not to blame. The jury returned a verdict that deceased's death was caused by his own carelessness. July 20. Captain McEinnon, of Fort Chalmers, who died on Thursday, received a Masonic funsrpl to-day.
